ICT4 – Second meeting in Spain – summary

From May 13th to 16th, 2025, the final meeting of the Erasmus+ project „International ICT Competitions IV for Increasing the Quality of Secondary Education” (ICT4, KA210-VET-07464005) was successfully held in Alcoi, Spain. The event gathered students and teachers from the Czech Republic, Poland, Iceland, and Spain.
The meeting brought together:

  • 4 students and 2 teachers from Poland
  • 4 students and 2 teachers from the Czech Republic
  • 4 students and 2 teachers from Iceland
  • 4 students and 3 teachers from Spain
As in previous editions, the students were welcomed by local host families, which significantly contributed to their cultural and linguistic immersion. This type of hosting facilitates international understanding and personal growth among participants.
On Tuesday May 13th, the meeting began with a warm welcome from the headmaster, followed by an informal introduction and tour of the school. Students were grouped into international teams and introduced to the 3D printing during a dedicated workshop session. Meanwhile, teachers met to exchange ideas about educational practices and ICT integration in their curricula. In the afternoon we visited MAF museum (Festivities of Alcoi) and the University Museum, both heritage of Alcoi.
The international competition took place on Wednesday 14th, including two main parts: the 3D design of two objects, a Christmas ornament incorporating four constructions representative of each country or city and the development of an exact model for teaching, a ICT4 ruler in this case. All teams performed with excellence. At midday, we left to visit the main city of Alicante, its city center, castle and the beach.
The following day, Thursday 15th, teachers corrected the competition entries and discussed next steps and dates of the project. At the same time, students attended a 3D interior design workshop. Then, Diplomas and certificates were handed out. After that, we left to the neighboring town of Ibi, visiting the Arcade Museum and AIJU, the Technological Institute of toy, where demonstrations of 3D technologies and an AI-based game were conducted.
The last day, Friday 16th all the teams attended the international Alcoibot stand, the educational robotics fair organised and hosted by the host school, Salesianos Juan XXIII Alcoi, where they showed all the visitors, more than 700, the 3D printed designs designed by them and the drone programming carried out in the previous meeting in the Czech Republic and Poland. They were also able to see and learn from the ideas and different robotics and innovation projects exhibited there. Departures took place later that afternoon according to each country’s flight schedule.
The ICT4 meeting in Alcoi reinforced the value of international cooperation in education. Students enhanced their ICT skills through practical activities in 3D design and digital tools. They also gained valuable intercultural experience and developed language and teamwork skills in a supportive and inclusive environment.
We would like to thank all participating schools, teachers, students, local institutions and families for their involvement and support. Special thanks to Servitech3D, AIJU, d3Imatge and museums for hosting us and enriching the program with valuable insights and activities.
